Ecobreves – HONDURAS: Businesspeople Learn About Sustainable Production

TEGUCIGALPA, Sep 24 2012 (IPS) - Some 300 businesspeople from northern Honduras have received training on clean technologies in the energy, agriculture and water management sectors. “The time has come when the private sector should have more in-depth knowledge of the economic and environmental benefits represented by these kinds of activities,” said Daniel Ayes of the National Center for Cleaner Production, who headed up the training program.

“Proper water management, appropriate inputs for agriculture and the advantages of renewable energy are things that our businesspeople should know about, as well as academics, who are also being incorporated in this type of training,” he told Tierramérica.

The National Center for Cleaner Production assists companies in the adoption of environmental and quality management systems and clean technologies.
