WSF Can Nourish ILO Commission

The international community needs to follow the questions being raised at the WSF to nourish its work, says Aminata Traore, an author and member of the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalisation.

“The WSF debates are useful to the commission’s work, given the ILO’s efforts to achieve decent work,” she says. “From what was said here, neo-liberalism cannot answer the question of decent work, when the people in the South have no work at all.”

Africa has many examples of people suffering from the prevailing economic order, adds Traore, who hails from Mali. “There is a need for radical reform of the market system.”
