Nuclear disarmament in South Asia and the proliferation of nuclear weapons are among the issues that Praful Bidwai has been covering for IPS over the past several years. Here IPS has compiled the stories by Praful, an Indian freelance journalist, political analyst and peace activist.

Praful, a former senior editor of The Times of India, is one of the founders of the Movement in India for Nuclear Disarmament, a member of the International Network of Engineers and Scientists against Proliferation, and one of the leaders of the Indian Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament and Peace.

Among many other books, Praful published New Nukes: India , Pakistan and Global Disarmament together with Achin Vanaik. They were awarded the Sean McBride International Peace Prize for 2000 by the International Peace Bureau, and have been called "two of India 's most courageous radical journalists" (Tariq Ali, The Guardian).
