			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By - -  and IPS Correspondents<br />SANTIAGO, Apr 6 2009 (IPS) </p><p>Ten experts from the International Energy Agency (IEA) visited Chile as part of an in-depth study being conducted of the country&#39;s energy situation and policies. <span id="more-123717"></span> From Mar. 30 to Apr. 3 the group met with government representatives, who had asked for the external assessment, as well as with representatives of the private sector and civil society. After studying all of the data, the experts will each present their recommendations for Chile.</p>
<p>Director of the non-governmental Sustainable Chile Program, Sara Larraín, told Tierramérica that the study is a &#8220;positive&#8221; step, but she called for transparency in regards to the information collected and the subsequent recommendations.</p>
<p>The proposals are expected to be revealed in Chile in October, according to IEA executive director Nobuo Tanaka.</p>
