			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By IPS Correspondents  and - -<br />TEGUCIGALPA, Jun 8 2009 (IPS) </p><p>The Honduran Armed Forces launched a campaign to plant one million trees in the country&#39;s most vulnerable areas, deputy Defense minister Lionel Sevilla told Tierramérica. <span id="more-123794"></span> The effort will last one month and, according to Sevilla, is part of the military&#39;s commitments to protect the environment. Also participating are community groups, and local and national government agencies, &#8220;because the problem of conserving the forest involves everyone,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>Environment Minister Tomás Vaquero told Tierramérica that the military mission is part of the ministry&#39;s activities under way since last year to preserve 372 protected areas.</p>
