The World Wildlife Fund presented in Chile the document “WWF Principles on Indigenous Peoples and Conservation in Project and Program Management,” translated to Spanish and with case studies from Chile and the rest of Latin America. “The great biological wealth of Latin America and the Caribbean is related to the great cultural wealth of the indigenous peoples, who control a large portion of the resources of local, national and global importance for conservation,” Jaime Molina, head of WWF's indigenous and social conservation campaign.

The document, available in pdf format from the WWF website (www.worldwildlife.org/), aims to support the internal efforts of the main organization and of other conservation groups, and to serve as a guide for indigenous peoples to protect their rights, which are consecrated in several international conventions.
