			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By IPS Correspondents  and - -<br />TEGUCIGALPA, Jun 7 2010 (IPS) </p><p>Around 30 non-governmental organizations in Honduras make up the Alliance for Food Sovereignty, whose mission is to promote sustainable agriculture and reforms that give a boost to small farmers. <span id="more-124215"></span> Activist Tatiana Núñez told Tierramérica that in the coming days they will launch the &#8220;Directo al grano&#8221; campaign to raise awareness about the importance of family farming and demand greater government investment and more international cooperation in the sector.</p>
<p>The campaign includes exhibitions of farm products and cultural activities, as well as the formal presentation of a farmland ownership reform bill, to make land distribution more equitable instead of fallow land in the hands of large landowners. </p>
<p>According to the Alliance, the idea is to promote a new process of agrarian reform to go beyond the effort begun in the 1970s.</p>
