			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By IPS Correspondents  and - -<br />TEGUCIGALPA, Jun 20 2011 (IPS) </p><p>The government of Honduras has established a specialized unit to ensure transparency in the use of loans and donations earmarked for climate change initiatives, at the request of international financial institutions. <span id="more-124542"></span> Finance Minister William Chong Wong told Tierram&eacute;rica that the Unit for Climate Change Economic and Financial Management, which will be attached to the ministry, is aimed at &ldquo;more transparency and greater efficiency in the allocation of resources.&rdquo; </p>
<p>Honduras, one of the countries most vulnerable to the effects of climate change, has requested 5.7 million dollars in international cooperation aid over five years for adaptation and mitigation initiatives.</p>
