The University of São Paulo has created the Interdisciplinary Climate Investigation Center (INCLINE) to integrate all of university’s studies in this field. The center will work to develop more detailed models of climate patterns in Brazil. Fifteen sectors of the university are involved in the initiative.

“Through these joint efforts we hope to facilitate more efficient actions on issues related to climate. We want to be a national and international reference on the subject,” Paulo Artaxo, the vice coordinator of INCLINE, told Tierramérica.

“We want to promote a wider-reaching vision of the issue, which extends beyond the scientific field to also consider the social and economic consequences of climate change,” he added. “We will not be working in isolation. There will be interaction with other national research centers and joint efforts with public initiatives.”
