The Microfinance Network of Honduras (Redmicroh) is promoting small-scale clean energy projects through its 27 member organizations willing to finance family farmers interested in entering this field. The initiative, called "Mipymes Verde" (My Green SME), will support families with limited resources who want to set up microenterprises involving the generation of renewable energy, Redmicroh director Martha Salgado told Tierramérica.

“We are talking about options for the rural sector, for learning to use solar energy and thereby contributing to reducing the energy consumption of their communities and families, as well as getting established as micro- entrepreneurs,” she said.
