			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By - -  and IPS Correspondents<br />RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec 3 2012 (IPS) </p><p>According to a survey conducted by the Brazilian Water Program, 64 percent of Brazilians still do not have access to selective waste collection as a means of recycling. <span id="more-124938"></span> Among those excluded from selective waste collection services, 85 percent said they would be willing to separate recyclable waste if they had the opportunity, the study revealed. The Brazilian Water Program was created though a partnership between the state bank Banco do Brasil, the Brazilian chapter of the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the National Water Agency. </p>
<p>&ldquo;The deadline set by the National Solid Waste Policy for municipalities to offer selective waste collection and eliminate dumpsters is less than two years away. At this rate of progress, the targets will not be met,&rdquo; F&aacute;bio Cidrin of WWF- Brazil told Tierram&eacute;rica.</p>
