An award-winning journalist and IPS correspondent since February 2012, Brown travels all over the Caribbean examining the impacts of climate change on tourism, agriculture and health in the countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Born in Jamaica, Brown has also lived in Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Antigua and Barbuda.

“Caribbean countries are some of the most vulnerable to climate change. As I travel throughout the region I see how people and communities are being impacted. Most of these countries depend on tourism and agriculture and, sadly, these industries are feeling the brunt of the effects of climate change. For me, it’s very important to share these stories with the rest of the world.”

In 2012 and 2013, Brown was awarded by the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and the Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation (CTA) for excellence in reporting on climate change adaptation and mitigation. He also received an honourable mention in the 2013 Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) Media Awards on Water.
