Ecobreves – HONDURAS: Canadian Funding for Protected Areas

TEGUCIGALPA, Feb 6 2012 (IPS) - The government of Canada has provided Honduras with 52,000 dollars to enhance the management of protected areas, through the Forest Conservation Institute (ICF). The funds will be used for state and community capacity building in forest management projects in the country’s main protected areas, Honduran Minister of Planning Julio Raudales told Tierramérica.

Honduras has a total of 107 protected areas.
