- A small shop that sells food in Argentina provides its clients with reusable cloth bags for their purchases, with the aim of reducing the volume of household garbage. The bags, which replace the usual plastic bags, bear the business's name and logo, “La Curva”, and the statement “I Recycle”, name of the plan launched in 2007 by more than 70 families in Ensenada, south of Buenos Aires.
“The idea is not to just protest, but to demonstrate that there is a will to change in society,” Julia Santamaría, a resident of Ensenada, told Tierramérica.
With the reusable bags, La Curva is joining the residents participating in the recycling plan and turning in all recyclable waste to urban collection points.
