- The Chilean Water and Energy Education and Culture Committee, involving the National Environment Commission and five other public agencies, launched the “Let's Take Care of Water” contest on Mar. 25, aimed at primary and secondary students in the capital. “The Commission wants to promote awareness among students about the scarcity of water resources and the importance of their efficient use, encouraging the development of creativity, cooperative efforts and a link to the educational sphere,” executive director Alvaro Sapag told Tierramérica.
Each institution will be able to present two written proposals for efficient use of water. They will be evaluated for their originality and viability. The awards will be presented Jun. 17.
