- Four provinces in Honduras will begin sustainable development efforts in 2011 for small rural agricultural businesses, financed by 32 million dollars from the Inter-American Development Bank. The five-year project involves the northern provinces of Colón and Gracias a Dios, Olancho in the northeast, and El Paraíso in the south, Agriculture Minister Jacobo Regalado told Tierramérica.
The initiative will reinforce protection for watersheds, management and preservation of natural resources and organic farming, and will foment a productive chain of small agri-businesses to bring their products to market.
