Mauritians worried about new dam

Apr 26 2012 (IPS) - The Mauritian Government has started the construction of 14-million cubic metres dam at Bagatelle, in the center of the island, to collect water that presently runs to the sea. But farmers in the area fear the new dam may damage their crops, particularly sugar cane and vegetables, and affect their livelihood.
